Nicholas Peyton is an excellent jazz trumpeter. One of the best around today IMO.
He had a great trad N.O. sound as a teenager, and then a great bop sound later. It
would appear as if he is going beyond those genres in search of further out jazz
music. But you are right on Kash, he is still searching. Kind of like Sandoval. No
identifiable personal jazz sound signature, but gobs of talent and so he tries it
all, musically.

PS. Steve Brodie? Wasn't the guy who jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge many years ago
and was ever immortalized as the man for whom the phrase "Taking a Brodie" was
coined for someone who took a dive? Any relation Dick? ;-)
