Listmates...I found this on Google. Jimmy's mother-in-law lived in Lodi, and
I was quite close to him. Many jazz lovers didn't know him, but he had a
great jazz style.
One morning he was featured on "All Things Considered" on National Public
Radio while my wife and I were getting ready to go to work. He was a very
interesting, and fascinating man. Click on the link below to find out more.
He played for many years with "Fulton Street". After the Jubilee's were over
on Monday in Sacramento, the "Warm-Down Parties" at the famous "Back Door"
in old Sacramento was his favorite hangout! Some of the all-time greats
could be heard there jamming with Jimmy Rivers.
