Listmates: Just returned from NYC. Went to 5 shows, the Philharmonic and
the Carlyle Hotel to see Woody Allen. As a clarinet player (I had never heard
him) and was curios in lite of ,comments I had heard about him. The cover is
$50.00 and the dinner is about $70.00, so it was an expensive clarinet lesson.
Now thqat I have heard him, I just don"t know what to say. I was delighted
to find the kind of club that never seems to exist anywhere, and is the dream
of many of us. In the Village there is a place called the "Cajun" which is
New Orleans in concept with the appropriate food and 'with OKOM 9 times a week.
I heard Vince Giordano's Nighthawks there and several other good groups. No
cover, but reasonable priced and tasty food. I really recommend it for
people in OKOM who visit there. Also saw a tasty quintet at the Carnegie Club.
Check 'em out.
