Steve Martin plays excellent banjo. And Dudley Moore's movie credits include
"10"with the lovely Bo Derek and the "Arthur" films. Another fine English
comedian, Spike Milligan of Goon Show fame, played good jazz trumpet. I have
a photo of Margaret Thatcher playing the clarinet, but I suspect this was
just a publicity stunt. Other politicians (who I guess qualifty as celebs):
the odious Tony Blair played guitar in a punk rock group while at
University, and I believe that Bill Clinton used to blow tenor sax,
presumably when Monica L. hadn't got her hands on his instrument. And
lastly, the Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) fancied himself as a drummer
and in the 30's used to sit in with jazz bands in nightclubs - prompting
Dave Tough to observe "I hope he's good at being a King!"
