[Dixielandjazz] Funny line in today's Dave Barry column in the Miami Herald

Friends,

This is really gross but it totally cracked me up. I'm just now picking
myself up from thje floor where I have been helplessly rolling in
uncontrollable laughter. I guess I must be easily amused.

Anyway, the humor columnist, Dave Barry, in today's (Sunday, Nov. 16th)
column was writing about colds and 'the flu.' He said some really silly
things about the origin and transmission of this common upper respiratory
tract infection but the funniest (to me, anyway) was when he described the
act of blowing one's nose as "Playing the snot trombone.'

I'm really sorry to be posting this in a forum dedicated to dixieland jazz
(whatever that is) but I simply couldn't help it. I'll go to my room and
stand in the corner for penance.

Respectfully (sort of) submitted,

Bill "Playing Hot Licks on my Trombone" Gunter
