Listmates,

Just want to share a wondeful experience with you.

Spent last week in the Washington, DC area. Had a great time visiting friends
in Washington. Chevy Chase, and Virginia (beach front property at the
Rappahannock River!).

One of the highlights was sitting in with Marty Frenkel's Federal Jazz
Commission last Tuesday at Colonel Brooks Tavern om Monroe Street (never mind
that it took us an hour to find the *&&^%$#@ place). Marty was very gracious
and,.also, trombomist Steve Welch who lent me his horn to play a tune. A
rather remarkable instrument, built in the twenties, to be tuned in the
slide, no counterweight in the back etc. Very easy to play due to its light
weight.

Also met with listmate Dave "Sheik" Littlefield for dinner. Exchanged a B
flat fake book for a "C" book. Everything worked out just great.

Is this a great list or what!

Regards,

Rob van der Plas
