Geoff Nichols
GOOD VIBES BAND
10 April 2003 - Clevedon Jazz Club
Co-founder and leader of the legendary, but now disbanded, Avon Cities
band, Geoff Nichols has been a giant of the Bristol jazz scene for over 50
years. A master of the trumpet, tenor horn and vibes he led The Avon Cities
on records that vied for chart positions with the likes of Acker Bilk,
Kenny Ball and the other nationally acclaimed bands of the late 1950s.
Now Geoff is leading small groups playing the music made famous by the
likes of Benny Goodman in the 1930s and 40s. With Geoff on vibes backed
by some of the finest Bristol jazz players, Clevedon Jazz Clubs audience
at the Clubs Walton Park Hotel venue on 10 April are in for a real treat.
Doors open at 8pm and the music starts at 8.30pm. Admission, on the door,
will be £5-50 with the usual concession for members. Further details of
