Many thanks to all listmates who sent me such good advice on how to make the
virtual instruments on my PC sound more real than the tin toys they are at
present. Most responders suggested that I get Roland Virtual Sound Canvas
which does not require the installation of a new expensive soundcard so I
now have one on order. I shall also be purchasing a decent set of speakers
(including a subwoofer) and will report the results when it is all up and
running.
