To all musicians who like to perform a little nutty humor. [ There are a
few out there ].

I played with a keyboard guy a few weeks ago who, upon hearing me sing,
asked if he could sing a particular song. [ They all do that. If I
sing, the rest of the guys figure they can do better ].

OK, I said.

Here's the song. It starts with a story presented non-vocally.

There was a soldier who came home after three years at the wars. His
wife presented him with a one year old son. "What is his name"? the
soldier asked. "Benny", said his wife. "I don't understand", said the
soldier, "where did he come from"? "Benny's from heaven". said the
wife.

And then my keyboard guy began singing "Benny's From Heaven" to the
tune of, yes, you already guessed it, "Penny's from Heaven".

It was the first time I had heard the story and I reacted as would an
audience. It captured my attention 100%, and was both funny and warm
hearted.

You might like to try it.
