I for one am always interested to read how listmates first became attracted
to OKOM. Many, if not most of the bios submitted so far state that very
first time the writers heard the music they were converted to it. Very few
have said that their conversion came about by a gradual awareness of jazz.

As (I hope) my own bio made clear I am a first-timer too. I feel ashamed
when I remember all those wasted years in my youth as a closet jazz lover
pretending to like pop music just to be an accepted member of my peer group.
Then that wonderful day dawned when I came out.
