Well, I knew I liked you, and now I know why: you're like Pee Wee Hunt,
engineering at Ohio State (Pee Wee in 1925) and you ain't stupid! Like:

" late-night broadcasts of Chic Webb and Ella,
back in high school and, despite not reading a note, formed a small (but
awful) dance band."

Awful, schmawful: at least you started one and for all the right reasons!
More than most of us did, for any reasons at all. And even more so:

"In my spare time my wife and I (as a Lay Reader) started an
Episcopal mission in La Mirada, CA, now a parish with a nice building, and
wrote a political commentary column."

God bless, Bill, and please continue! I left your church for the Romans
a few years ago, many reasons why, quite behind Newman; but I will always
love Episcopalians. And I pray for your continuance. Good people! Can I
still find your political commentary column? If not, can you supply me
with your outlines?

admiringly,

Charlie
