Thanks for the support.  When I was in London a few years ago, I 
found it horrible with the smoke, I nearly died (figuratively) at one 
club, located in a basement in a warehouse district.  They only have 
traditional Jazz one Monday a month, I was lucky it was when I was 
there. perhaps you know of the place.  To make matters worse, when it 
became apparent that I absolutely had to leave, it took them almost 
15 minutes to get me the bill and process my credit card.  I was 
choking by the time I left.

The UK is definitely behind the curve relative to the US when it 
comes to clean indoor air.  Some restaurants didn't even have a 
no-smoking section, something nearly unheard of here.
