Hi Bob,

I wish I'd had the opportunity of hearing more of Dick's Cary's music, as
you did. I only had the opportunity to hear his charts on a few sets at the
Sweet & Hot festival around 10 years ago. I deferr to your vastly superior
exposure and knowlege on the subject of Dick Cary. Keep in mind, that my
longest association I had with Dickwas as a dog food delivery person to
Christie Mc Mickle, Lisa's daughter who lived on the property in Sun Valley
where I had a 30 minute chat. I'd be very interested in your verbal
description of Dick's arranging. After so much time, it's possible if not
likely that my memory did not serve me well in my evaluation. Could I be
getting old?

Abe Most was a good friend for many years. It was Abe that kept urging me
to come and dig the Tuesday night garage band. I was living in Palm Springs
at the time (and still am) and it seemed that any time I was in LA I had
meetings (Audio Engineering Society - Sapphire Society and more ) that were
invariably held on Tuesdays evenings at the same time as the rehearsal band
played.

It's also true that , perhaps, I do have too much time on my hands. With
improving health, I'm beginnig to get busy again as a player and may soon
fall a few thousand posts behind on the djml as I have in the past. I enjoy
the list and will make every effor to be as active as I can. Dick
