Frank Orchard has short, not too informative, biogs in the 'New Grove Dictionary
of Jazz. 1988' and John Chilton's 'Who's Who Of Jazz'.
Born Chicago 21 Sept 1914. Died New York. 27 Dec 1983.
There has to be much more somewhere.
'Mississippi Rag' archive?
My own collection is limited to his 1944 recorded sides with bands led by Joe
Marsala, Max Kaminsky and Wingy Manone.
I can't think of any others.
