Could this be the "Bunchie" mentioned in a recent posting about Ascona?

Not much on this musician as yet except what I garnered from The Mississippi 
Rag: a sometime drummer with Lillian Boutté who played a Snug Harbor gig with 
Tim Laughlin at the end of 1998. A mention in New Orleans Jazz and Second Line 
Drumming, however, reveals his age and that he has played with Allen 
Toussaint and Dave Bartholomew, as well as Dr John, Martha Wright, and Wardell 
Quezerque. Honest! N.O.M. volume 8-4 mentions him appearing at the Harrogate Festival 
in 1999 with Lars Edegran's Band.
(In case you don't know NOM stands for New Orleans music, a splendid British 
magazine. Also Wardell Quezerque: I have seen him referred to in print as the 
"Creole Beethoven" and I didn't even know he was deaf. I've seen him quoted in 
print as stating his name is pronounced "ka-ZAIR")
