Dear Pamela,

Jack was one of the greats of Jazz. He was the absolute best of his time.

He ranks right up there with Louis Armstrong, trumpet; Benny Goodman,
clarinet; and Earl Heines, piano. He was a true Jazz pioneer.

Unfortunately I never met Jack but did know Charlie. I also knew their mom
& Norma quite well. In fact, somewhere I have a picture of Norma, Mom &
myself.

I am on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society
here in California. I am also the Guest Star Coordinator for the Society.
We have a Norma Teagarden scholarship fund for young musicians that was
started by Norma's husband after her passing. In fact, we have a 17 year
old girl on the list here who is a recipient of that scholarship.

You should be very proud--You have royalty in your blood.

I hope that you stay on this List. I am sure you will learn much about
Jack.

Best wishes,

Bob Ringwald
