The best duck bit I have every heard (actually it was a chicken) was handled
by the drummer Larry Fisher with the Jazzin' Babies Band in So. Calif. He
would but a duck call into the mouth of a rubber chicken and then breath air
into it, i.e., blow up the chicken. He would than hold the bloated chicken's
body under his arm and squeeze the air-filled belly. A Quack would come out.
By squeezing the body in rhythm, he was able to make the rubber chick sing
along with whatever OKOM the band was playing. At the end of the piece,
during the always loud applause, he would hold up the chicken's foot to it's
mouth and "blow kisses" to the crowd. Never failed to stampede the audience.
He went through about two chickens a month.
