Hi George:
I think you must mean Joe Penner.  Ed Penner was with the Fire House Five.
Joe Penner's catch phrase was,  "Wanna buy a duck?"
He also said,  "You nah-sty man!"

His duck's name was Goo-Goo. One  of Mel Blanc's first jobs on national
radio was the voice of Goo-Goo. The mannerisms Blanc created for the Bugs
Bunny cartoon character Elmer Fudd were reportedly based on the real Joe
Penner.

Musical note: Ozzie Nelson was the band leader for the show and Harriet was
the vocalist.
