List mates:

Just got the Berk's Jazz Fest email newsletter which had a little blurb
(see below) on our band. Nice to have this go out to about 100 venues in
the Reading PA area, plus a couple of thousand supporters and/or
interested jazz fans. The now annual "New Orleans/Mardi Gras Night" has
become a staple of this "modern jazz festival." (Reading is 50 miles
from home base)

These types of events, plus the many Blues events being scheduled for
2003, The Year of The Blues, cited by Don Mopsick are fertile ground for
OKOM bands to dig for gigs. We just signed up a Blues Festival in the
suburbs of Philadelphia and are talking to several more.

Cheers,
Steve Barbone

4: Barbone Street Jazz Band to open for The Dirty Dozen Brass Band The
festival's annual "New Orleans/Mardi Gras Night" concert got kicked up a
notch. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, celebrating its 30th year in the
business, will headline the concert Wednesday, March 26, 7:30 p.m. at
the Lincoln Plaza Hotel ballroom.

Barbone Street Jazz Band, the Delaware Valley's most sought after jazz,
swing, hot dance band headed by Steve Barbone, will open for the TDDBB,
creating a double-header of swinging New Orleans jazz. For more
information on the Barbone Street Jazz Band, check out

For 25 years, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band has forged the traditions of
New Orleans jazz with the
modern influences of bebop, funk, R&B and pop, creating a new standard
by which all other brass bands
are measured. Their non-stop touring - both on their own and as the horn
section for everyone from Miles Davis to Elvis Costello - has taken the
band to every corner of the planet, making their classic "Second Line"
sound synonymous with New Orleans itself.

Before the Barbone Street / Dirty Dozen Berks Jazz Fest concert, there
will be a Mardi Gras party in the lobby area of the Lincoln Plaza Hotel,
starting at 5:30 p.m. New Orleans and Cajun food and refreshments will
be available.
