List mates,
A clarinet/recorder playing friend of mine just sent me a request for
information. "The Faithful Hussar" is, according to the album liner
notes a German tune. Can anyone provide the sheet music for my friend,
Dick?

Hi Ron--I've tried finding sites that might help me but with no luck.
On the
Ambassador Satch album, which you put on cassettes for me, there is a
piece
called "The Faithful Hussar." Louis could never remember the words to
it, so
he scatted his way through it. I've always been nuts about the melody
and
would like to play it---the liner notes said that after that European
tour,
words were written to the melody and it was issued as a single called (I
believe) "Six Foot Four". Can you find out anything about either of
these
titles, and maybe help me get the music for the tune? Just something to
keep
you research-busy on those cold winter evenings! Let me hear from you
when
you get a chance---Dick
