[Dixielandjazz] More jazz in New Orleans

>>>George Buck is more than an interesting man. He is a true patron of the
arts. He has long put out recordings that have not made a dime for him. He
feels that they should be put out and that he will do it as long as he has
some resources to do it.<<<

Indeed he is! He has a number of labels under his umbrella, each
devoted to a different type of jazz. Jazzology is 50+ years old, and George
says he has never taken a penny out of the labels for his personal use. He
still does not receive any money from the operation. In fact, he still
contributes a minimum of $5,000 a month to the operation from his
broadcasting income.(He owns a couple of radio stations).
He has established the GHB Jazz Foundation to insure that the recording
and distribution of jazz continues.
George really deserves a lot of credit and recognition for his many
contributions to jazz.
    Pat Cooke
