Wow! Not OK is being too kind!!
Once I played with a very modern pianist. On one solo I was doing, his
chords were clashing with my "melody line following" improvisation.
Later, when discussing the "dischord" we had been having, he said he was
just playing far out on the chords.....
My comment: if it clashes with what the soloist is doing, particularly
when the solist was following the melody line, then it's WRONG. Not
modern, just wrong!
