Dear Pat,
One more question while this thread is still functioning.
Maurie Walker mentioned tuning in to station WWL (New Orleans) for a jazz
program and the broadcasts from the 'Blue Room'.
I have other references to radio shows in New Orleans, in particular Papa
Celestin's Tuxedo Jazz Band  and the 'Dixieland Jambake' radio programmes and
the George Lewis Ragtime Jazz Band, both on WDSU in the early 1950s.
Were these broadcasts 'live' from the radio studio or from a venue (perhaps the
Blue Room)?
