We once played a gig on the lake at a country club for a Labor Day
celebration. The audience was located on the shores of the pond and we
were loaded into a boat and pulled to the center of the lake to play.
The organizers had the foresight to add several cases of beer for the
band. Everything worked well until the call of nature raised its
uncomfortable head. At this time, the band began to chant "pull the
rope!" Someone finally noticed and we were pulled to shore. When we
returned to play the second set, the good country club people had
kindly replenished the beer supply. Money was good, the beer was good
and a fine evening for all concerned. Unfortunately, I don't remember
who drove home.
