Just came from a concert at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, a venue
world-renowned for its wonderful acoustics. Performing was Mark
O'Connor's Hot Swing Trio (Mark-violin, Frank Vignola-guitar and Jon
Bur-bass). Mark claims Stephane as a major influence, and much of the
trio's work reminds one of the Hot Club of France. One mike that was used
only when Mark was introducing the songs.
I understand they're just beginning an east-coast tour. It ain't
Dixieland, but don't miss them!
In reference to another thread, don't forget the old song, "There are so
many holes in the mattress, it might as well be spring."
And Charlie, if you're bothered by people who mis-sprung, you must be
positively apoplectic the way lay/lie get interchanged.
