For a very recent NPR (US National Public Radio) radio program
discussing the lack of jazz recording and programming, and the small
audience for jazz, go to:

Generally they claim 3 % of record sales are jazz. That compares with 2
% two years ago. Besides the written word, The above site also has
interviews you can hear via real player. It is very interesting,
HOWEVER, they are virtually all modern jazz musicians talking about the
genre. We are barely a blip on the jazz radar screen, but the gist of
the discussion applies to all of us in jazz.
