Hi, those were the fiddle players words not mine. He also added `He doesn`t
play any better now` and that was only 20 years ago.

I agree with you , I have heard Shearing playing some very tasteful stuff
but Mac, my fiddle playing friend, held a very hard line about what was
jazz.
Incidentally I saw Mac 2 days ago. He is well into his 80`s and cycles many
miles each day. I passed him on the road and he was pushing his bike so I
stopped, imagining that he had a puncture perhaps. Not a bit of it. He was
RUNNING with his bike because he `liked a change`. Where was he going? To
the local pool for a swim!.

Makes me tired thinking of it.
