I did some searching today for CD data base software and came across =
a
product called CATraxx.  This product can search the net for CD detai=
ls but
also allows manual entry.

One thing I like about this product, amongst many, is that it allows =
you to
load full recording date and personnel details if you wish, allowing =
you to
search by musician.  It will take some work to get this feature fully
functioning for CDs where the personnel details are not available on =
the
web.  The product operates fine without the  personnel details being
entered.

The full version is reasonably priced at US$39 for the download versi=
on.
You can get it as a free trial for 30 days and 50 CDs (or other mediu=
ms).

Thanks for the link. This DB looks good for CDs but, as far as I coul=

tell, even the $80 "pro" version is not suitable for 78s - my main in=
terest
given that I have more of them than CDs or for that matter, LPs. As i=
t
seems you use this CDTrustee, how does it cope with early CDs from th=
e mid
1980s ?

When the subject of databases/discographies came up back in February,=

Koert supplied a link to a database called "Brian 3" at
http://home.earthlink.net/~steveja7/Brian.htm  which looks more in ke=
eping
with what I will need.  I haven't tried it yet for the simple reason =
of 'no
time' but when I can make some (time that is) maybe next year, I plan=
 to
explore Brian 3 in greater depth and may well give it a whirl.
