If you are going to be on the East Coast of the USA in June, consider
coming to the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, DE. There is
something for everybody a this event. The web site will be up about May
1 so consider this advance notice. Web site will be

Dates: Sunday June 15, 2003 through Sunday June 22, 2003
All EVENTS ARE FREE except Sunday, June 22 which costs $10.00.
Headliners are as follows:

Sun 6/15 Duke Ellington Orch plays 3 Sacred Concerts
Episcopal Church, 8th & Shipley Streets. Time to be announced

Mon 6/16 Trumpet Legends outdoors on Rodney Square. 6 PM
Roy Hargrove, Terrell Stafford, Randy Brecker, David Weiss

Tue 6/17 Barbone Street Jazz Band, Rodney Square Mardi Gras
plus The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. 6 PM

Wed 6/18 Afro Cuban Jazz with Afro Rican Ensemble followed by
Arturo Sandoval  Septet. Rodney Square, 6 PM

Thu 6/19 Kenny Barron Quartet 6 PM on Rodney Square
followed by Saxophonist Greg Osby and friends.

Fri 6/20  Funky night. Masters of Groove plus another funk
band to be announced. 6 PM

Sat 6/21 Local bands from noon. Rodney Square followed by
Herbie Handcock & The Delaware Symphony at 7 PM.

Sun 6/22 Wynton Marsalis & Lincoln Center Jazz Orch at
Winterthur 2 PM, Shuttle available from Rodney Square.

Note: Rodney Square is a large one square block in the center of
Wilmington, across from the Hotel DuPont. It can hold 10,000+ and the
band shell set-up is superb. So come on down.

Official announcement via press conference is 4/29/03, but mark your
schedule now if you like what you see.
