Bill Haesler, our Oz oracle said :

" Lillian Hardin (Armstrong).
Information on Louis Armstrong's first passport application (3 July 1932)
shows that Lil was married to James Johnson in Jan 1921, but divorced in Dec
1921."

Surely not THE James (P.) Johnson, Bill?

It beats me why the authorities at that time needed details of an almost
11-year-old divorce on Louis's passport application. What possible use could
such information serve?
