Dear friends,
While researching bits for my previous "Doctor Jazz" post I rediscovered a bit
of trivia I had forgotten about.
King Oliver's tunes, "Canal Street Blues", "Dippermouth Blues", "Just Gone" and
"Snake Rag" (1923) were arranged by Lillian Johnson.
Who?
Lillian Hardin (Armstrong).
Information on Louis Armstrong's first passport application (3 July 1932) shows
that Lil was married to James Johnson in Jan 1921, but divorced in Dec 1921.
