[Dixielandjazz] Pay in the 1920's

$200 a week was a fortune in the 20s.  A car cost $800 (new full sized
Ford). Middle Class houses cost $ 6000. In today's dollars, sideman pay
of $200 a week would be about $8000 the way I figure it.

And if they got expenses on the road, even more.
