The Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society is pleased to present
Sacramento's own Mardi Gras Band. Since its formation in 1984,
with its tasty arrangements, world-class musicianship and
hilarious comedy bits, the MGB has become one of the most sought
after bands, both locally as well as on the jazz festival
circuit. Dick Johnson (leader and arranger) , began his musical
career while still in highschool playing with local San Francisco
area bands. After college, he "Went on the road" playing with
"Name" Swing bands and comedy acts. For a time, Dick served as
music director with the Spike Jones Show.

Featured with the Mardi Gras Band is Ms. Claudette Stone, one of
the West Coast's top vocalists. Add to this the cream of the crop
of Sacramento area wmusicians to round out the distinctive MGB
sound and we have a great afternoon of fun, entertaining Jazz.
