Don Ingle asked about non-typical instruments in jazz. I would add
these.
Hi Don & List Mates:
Brubeck's early records with a basson in the Octet. Wonderful "Foggy
Day" (Jazz at Oberlin?)
Thelonious Monk on Celeste on "Panonica" (It just happened to be in the
studio)
Rufus Harley on Jazz Bagpipes.
Rasaan Roland Kirk on "Nose Flute" (difficult to watch while he was
alive)
