Hi all,
All this talk about pdf files reminds me that the October issue of my
Newsletter is now available in this format and if anyone not receiving this
exciting monthly publication would like a copy just let me know and I will
send one as an email attachment.
For those of you who do not know what this publication consists of it is a
monthly Newsletter or some 30 to 40 pages which lists new and forthcoming
jazz releases in the UK and elsewhere on CD which I can supply by mail order
to anyone who would like them. It is not all to the taste of most DJML
members but I do cater for all jazz tastes although I am bound to say that
none of my customers have ever asked for a Kenny G album and King Oliver CDs
outsell Miles Davis ones by about 20 to 1!
Highlights for this month include the 4th volume of the complete Bessie Smith
recordings on the British Frog label (far superior to the Sony-Columbia
issies!), the second volume of Peanuts Hucko blowing fabulously with the Alex
Welsh Band at the Manchester Sports Guild in the mid-1960s, a great new album
by an all star band led by Randy Sandke playing the Porgy and Bess
arrangements written by Bob Haggart, and a CD on the French EMI label of Mezz
Mezzrow recorded in Paris 1955 which has a title which could only be used by
the French! These gems and plenty of others are fully listed.
Cheers,
Jerry,
