[Dixielandjazz] Queen City Jazz Band

You were lucky to have the personnel to guide you to the Queen City Jazz
Band of Cincinnati, since about the same time, at the Mon-Vue Village in the
Denver area another Queen City Jazz Band was forming (and is still in
business.) There was a certain amount of confusion for some folks over the
same names but different bands.
My good friend Frank Powers, who left us for a higher up gig this year, was
often asked in earlier times if he was a member of the Denver Queen City
Band, and remarked that he once got tired of the question and fibbed and
said yes more than once, no doubt adding to the confusion.
Incidentally, I played with the Denver band for a short time before being
pulled off the band by Local 20 AF of M because the band was not union. But
I am still an alumnus of that group if of short-lived tenure.
