Dear Friends,

Losses of Friends and Loved Ones seem to continue. Mike Walbridge,
Traditional Jazz Tuba Man Extraordinare, called to tell me his Wife Patsy
had passed away yesterday morning, Friday October 4th, 2002. I worked with
Mike in Turk Murphy's Band in 1969 and as I recall Patsy and Mike were
married in the early 1970s. Brenda and I have been guests at their home in
Wheaton, Il., a suburb of Chicago, several wonderful times . Pat was not one
to play the role of Band Wife, and so seeing her at festivals was a rarity,
however when she WAS on the road with Mike, we always had a delightful
visit.  So, most of you that know Mike, probably have never met Patsy. This
has hit Mike quite hard, as you might imagine.... so a note or card I'm sure
will really be appreciated. He is a great guy, someone who always makes a
band come to life. I am truly sorry for his loss.
