K.I.S.S. formula = "Keep It Simple Stupid"

You may have a point - Cyrus St Clair was leading the ensemble as he soloed
on that 12 bar chorus of "Cushion foot Stomp".   He may have been playing
bars already scored by Clarence Williams - more likely I think, it was his
own improvisation.  The beauty of his solo (or lead, if you prefer) is in
the tone and timing - full-bodied and immaculate.  Doing what I think a tuba
should be doing in a New Orleans styled traditional jazz band.  I do not
need a tuba to play "Flight of The Bumble Bee" type soli - leave that to the
clarinet and cornet!   Hense use of the term  K.I.S.S. formula by me!
