Dear friends,
(delete now if you find this subject boring.)
Oh dear me, what a silly Billy I am.

Fortunately for my reputation, no one picked up the inadvertent, but glaring,
omission in my listing of Eddie Miller's solo clt playing. I had forgotten about
the Mound City Blue Blowers dates with Bunny Berigan and Yank Lawson
(May/Nov/Dec 1935):
"She's A Latin From Manhattan, Indiana, Red Sails In The Sunset, On Treasure
Island, Enny Meeny Miney Mo, I'm Shooting High, I've Got My Fingers Crossed,
High Society (with a magnificent version the traditional clt solo), Muskrat
Ramble".
And thanks to Bill Salmond for mentioning the wonderful post-war "Cajun Love
Song" for Capitol.
As usual, I was only thinking of the pre-war 'classic' era.
The Capitols were issued under both Miller's and Nappy Lamare's names (reissued
by Mosaic on the 'Classic Capitol Jazz Sessions' CD set) but, apart from "Cajun
Love Song", do not feature Mr Miller's clt.
Kind regards,
Bill.
PS: Looks like I have enough for my proposed radio program. And I have still not
previewed the whole of the Pollack period, which included stuff under Jack
Teagarden's name.
