[Dixielandjazz] Most demanding role

Back to a more serious discussion of the "most difficult" thread.
Changing to most demanding----in a high level OKOM band---as
opposed to beginners etc.
Seems to me the piano has the most demanding part of the scene.
He/she is playing almost all the time.  Rhythm support and filling in
the spaces during ensembles------tasty support during solos----
innovative solo-----great knowledge of chords and when to use
substitute chords----on instant call to provide interesting introduction
when guest vocalist arrives (in ANY key imaginable)----ability to play
different types of support  depending on the tune
and front line style (from stride to chord clusters).
Finger dexterity---and not spilling drinks on the piano.
And---how to maneuver around an out of tune piano.
I rest my case.
