Julian Bliss
Born in 1989 in St Albans England, Julian Bliss is a clarinettist with a
phenomenal talent who performs way beyond his 12 years. Destined for an
international solo career, Julian was recently awarded first prize in the
Philadelphia-based Concerto Soloists Young Artists Competition performing
Weber Clarinet Concerto No 2.
In May 2002, Julian will make his official London debut performing in two
concerts at the Hampstead & Highgate Festival including a performance of
Bartok Contrasts with Stephen Kovacevich and a recital at the Newbury Spring
Festival.
He is a favourite of the Royal Family, performing several times at
Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and Covent Garden Opera House for HRH
Prince Phillip and HRH Prince Charles and will perform at the Queen's Golden
Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace on 1 June. He has appeared on
National TV on numerous occasions and in March 2002 will appear in a
three-part series for Channel 4 entitled 'Gifted'. The documentary will be
entirely dedicated to Julian's life over one pivotal year at the launch of
his career, when the Bliss family discover the price as well as the
potential of this extraordinary talent.
Julian is currently studying for a Post-Graduate Artist Diploma at Indiana
