PS: I acknowledge Jim's correction regarding the first names. Harold (trumpet),
Robert (drums).
My information came from KO's book 'Jazz West'.
I have been unable to find any other references to their birth names. I have
plenty of information regarding both of them on records, which only ever mention
'Smokey' Stover. A common enough nickname in the US if you were a Stover and
grew up with the comic strip.
