[Dixielandjazz] HELP in recording

My husband, Jim, is trying to back-up copies of his old LPs.  We have
recorded one onto his computer hard drive, successfully made ONE CD and all
other copies he has attempted have failed.  The music will play on the
computer CD player, but not our jam box.  Yes, it was finalized.

Any suggestions???

And also, I would like to know if it is preferable to save as a .wav file,
or some other format.
