Hi all,
Haesler, over in New South Wales, OZ, mentioned Marcel Marceau (a talented
mime):
>The celebrated French mime artiste Marcel Marceau also played the
>university,
>which was surrounded by farms way out in the country. Somehow a sheep had
>got
>into the theatre just before the act began, wandered on to the stage and
>defecated in the middle of it. Somebody in the audience shouted,
>"Fantastic! Now
>do a horse".
Love it!
Another Marceau anecdote was his brief appearance in the Mel Brooks motion
picture, "Silent Movie." In the movie (in which nobody says a word) Brooks
thinks Marceau would be a natural to play in the movie so he calls Marceau
on the phone and asks him (via mime) if he would like to be in the movie.
Marceau is actually on the screen for but a moment and he says the only line
actually spoken out loud in the entire movie . . . . "NO!"
I love that stuff!
Bill " " Gunter
