The mention of Guitarist Dick Morgan is worth noting. He and Carl Grayson
were the two clucking chickens on Spike Jones' Holiday for Strings. His
nick-name was "Ickie", and he was a Colorado Univ. player with Glenn Miller
long before Miller went to New York. He and my Dad roomed together on the
road with Jones for several years. Had a dog named Tripod --"Because he's
always on three legs." (Now how's that for more trivia than you ever wanted
to know.)
