"Bix Restored, Vol. 4" documents the final recordings in the career of jazz
cornetist Bix Beiderbecke, covering June 1928 to September 1930. The three CD
set contains 64 tracks, including 15 tracks by Frnak Trumbauer & his
Orchestra and 5 by Bix & his Gang, George Gershwin's "Concerto in F" by Paul
Whiteman & his Orchestra, Bix's featured solos on Whiteman's 12" recordings
of "Gypsy" and "Sweet Sue," and Bix's last recordings with Hoagy Carmichael's
Orchestra. Included is an essay by Randy Skretvedt and a complete
discography. The set is dedicated to the late Alan Roberts, a founder of the
series, who passed away just as Volume 4 production began.
