So you think you know CSS eh?

industrial.org is about to get a major facelift with a switch to a new
front end and mostly unified backend I am currently finishing off.
This means that shortly there will be a single username and password
for everything except for the forums (that will come next) and the
FAQ system will need to be adjusted to fit within the new framework
as well. Anyway. . .the upcoming front end needs some style sheet
help to make it look purty and to get that a rolling, I am putting
out the call for folks interested in helping me with it.
Specifically, you will need to take the CSS classes I have already
and then work within that framework by adding some images and colours
to spiffy it up a little. As incentive, if I like your stylesheet /
images submission enough to use it on industrial.org, besides that
dubious honour I will offer up a goodie pack including discs from
Xenonics k-30, Wilt, Bestia Centauri, True Colour of Blood and the
"Embedded" compilation. If you feel like taking a stab with your CSS
/ Photoshop / Gimp knife drop me an email with a link to an example
site that shows what you can do and I will send you the particulars.

time to worship

Finnish nasty noise source Freak Animal has apparently gotten their
package from the pressing plant which means that Haare´s full length
CD "The Temple" is now up for grabs. The two track disc (don't get me
started on lack of track markers) offers up 40 minutes of what is
said to be "harsh psychedelic ambient/noise" and has an entrance fee
of 12€ in Europe or 13€ world. You can score the disc direct from the
artist if you prefer by chatting with ilkka.vekka at virpi.net or from
the freaky animalistic types via the fore mentioned label link. In
related news, if you live in the UK and miss the October 1 HINOEUMA
the MALEDICTION event featuring a number of Freak Animal acts (Grunt,
Cloama, Slogun, Control, Sickness and Skm-etr) you deserve a lifetime
of regret.

looking for penicillin

France based newcomer Infectious MG42 has been hassling me
incessentantly to post about his new CDR release entitled "Death
Front". The 10 track disc is a self-released affair that contains
"industrial music" (great description that) though he does state that
his influences include Cold Meat Industry acts mainly for what that
is worth. The sounds were created with the usual software suspects
(Fruity Loops, Native Software apps, Cubase, etc.) and apparently
there are MP3s available on his site but being Flash crippled as it
is, I could not find them. If you do and like what you hear, you can
trade for your own copy or drop 10€ in the mail. For more details
hassle mg42 at infectiousmg42.com.

tangled in the netting

Today shall be proclaimed as net label day. . .let us begin. Portugese
outfit MiMi focuses on Japanese and Portuguese sounds including
"ambient, noise, digital hardcore, idm, electronic collage and
others". To prove this they have a new set from iktr entitled "Time
Domain" which includes two tracks of "electronica and ambience"
spread over 15 minutes. For more details you should likely send a
note in "Blade Runner" language to mimirecords at clubotaku.org (i.e.
portujapenglish). Next up for MiMi is apparently a bonafide CDR
release but in the meantime, they have plenty of MP3s for you scarf
up so hop on it. Our next catch comes via luumu who has two previous
CDR releases up for grabs as MP3 files, the first of which is a
various artists entitled "into the core of Luumu!". The sounds
provided range through "laidback idm to darker ambient drones" and
include peeps in the roster such as OVO, Karaoke King and Finch. The
second offering is also a comp with "Canine Fragrance" featuring
"abstract, dark ambient/noise" from fine folks such as Andrey
Kiritchenko and OVO amongst others. More details can be had via
info at luumurecordings.com. Finally on our fishing trip we hit the
Infinite Sector where can be found two fresh sets. Unjil jumps out
first with "Odium Foundry", "twelve tracks of experimental audio
[that] make for a unique listening experience". They are then
followed by the V/A "The Mental Feng Shui Remixes" which is a 13
track set containing remixes of the Full On piece "Mental Feng Shui".
The results include everything from "experimental, noise, house, acid
jazz, hip hop, drum and bass" to various combinations of said genres
and is the first release including efforts from peeps outside of the
collective (yay for inclusion). You can grab the tracks from the
label's site or for more details bother info at infinitesector.org.

in defense of punctuation

German label Ad Noiseam is at it again with a fresh shot of Ukraine
based scientist Andrey Kiritchenko coming this September 20th. His
second outing on the label is to be entitled "Interplays, in between"
(some Philip K. Dick punctuation there) and "presents the bridge
between precise clicks, sharp glitch and a very subtle use of field
recordings, distorted voices and touching melodies" and is said to be
an intriguing meld of acoustics and electronics. MP3s and artwork
have been posted to get you wetter than you were and if that is what
happens you can pre-order via the label's site. Next out of the
proverbial pipe will be discs from Mothboy, Enduser, Mad e.p. and
Cdatakill and as well, Larvae is hitting the European road this
October so keep your ears posted for dates if you be in that neck of
the hood. Or you could always email Nicolas the Nasty via
info at adnoiseam.net.

try that one again

Australian label Cipher Productions has cracked open two new
offerings, the first being of the zine variety and called "Night
Science II". This second issue features 52 densely packed pages
including interviews with notables such as Deathpile, Gelsomina and
The Cherry Point amongst others as well as a report on the Tokyo
event "Bowels Of Noise 6" which took place last December. Also
included are something like 80 noise reviews and the first 50 punters
get a free Skeletone 3" CDR label sampler. The second bag of booty
contains sounds from Chrysalis on what I believe is a C-01 (i.e. one
minute tape, handmade perhaps?) and has been entitled "Blood Libel".
Half "overloaded noise hit" and "discreet piece of overbearance" with
a run of 43 copies. Since the tape is a money losing venture it can
only be ordered along with something else (which considering the cool
sounds in their distro list should not be a problem). For more
details on this and other label activties drop a note to Chris via
cipherproductions at lycos.com.

London droning

The latest in the ongoing regional acoustic series from
absinthProductions is a snappy 4 x 3"CDR based release entitled
simply "london strings". The collection is said to offer
"state-of-the-art solo work" from (surprise) London, England based
strings artists including: angharad davies (violin), rhodri davies
(harp), phil durrant (violin) and mark wastell (harp). Some short,
rather tasty exceprts are posted on the label's site and you are
looking at 20€ to get your hands on the whole card mounted collection
(which also includes I believe access to longer MP3s so you don't die
from the jones while waiting for the package to arrive). To find out
more about this or other sets in the series drop a note to marcus
liebig via marcus.liebig at absinthRecords.com.

split and taped

dollfullofrivetsproducts (I'm sure that used to be "productions" but
perhaps I'm an idiot) has gone the magnetic material wrapped around
wheels route with their latest C90 based split. The tape is shared
between "pedal chefs" stimbox and nkondi and bears thename
"whatflavorisnoise?" To find out for yourself what this collection of
skree tastes like you will need to cough up the gargantuan amount of
$4US world (yeah, I knew they were in it for the money). For details
on this and their other releases send your grumblings to
dollfullofrivets at hotmail.com.

bless you

Münster, Germany has given birth to the a label and named it
einzeleinheit (this may sound like a sneeze to the western ear but I
beleive the correct translation is "single unit" which fits well with
their mission statement). The new outfit is making its focus what it
calls "interface music" which means projects that include elements
culled from at least two genres, that have been created with a
"holistic approach: the album as a closed entity" and that are not
too long winded and which can be listed to "comfortably in one go".
The label's first words are from Naarmann and Robert Neiteler and are
recursively entitled "Naarmann and Neiteler present Sister
Thelesitis". The label describes ther efforts as "harsh industrial
and spheric electronics" and the damage if you want them in your hot
little hands is 12€ or $12US for us foreigners. The label's website
is currently German only but apparently that will change and you
don't need to be as smart as a bilingual people are to browse through
their sound archives which include a number of MP3s to keep you
satiated. For more details on this disc and future Münster mashing
drop a note to info at einzeleinheit.de.

moron invades Europe

I am the proud owner of a brand new passport so it looks like my plans
to go to Germany this fall will actually be realized. Any suggestions
of gigs to see, exhibits to peruse and offers of places to crash for
late October, early November in Germany or nearby countries
appreciated. Likewise, if you want either griefer or night ape to
perform, let me know and we can see if we can work something out. If
you do have the skinny on something I should know about, drop me a
note via moron at industrial.org.

Tabernac!

French Canadian label .Angle.Rec. is gracing this fall (late September
is the target date) with a split release between dark ambient types
Wilt and Monstrare. The release is to be entitled "GRAVEFLOWERS" and
features "experimental, atmospheric and obscure sounds, with a very
particular underlying and psychotropic dynamic to their productions"
as well as mixing some of the proverbial old school with the new
school. No prices yet posted for the full length disc but to enquire
about a possible pre-order or to ask about killer reverb settings,
hassle info at angle-rec.net. In related news, Monstrare's Cordell Klier
has a gig in St. Paul, MN (USA) this September 16th so check him out
if you are in the area.

Accosted by Costes

Insane French purveyor of what he is now describing as "opera porno"
Costes has a new release slithering about compliments of American
outfit Nut Music. This latest disc is entitled "Holy Virgin Cult" and
apparently it is so obnoxious that the label was afraid to offer any
sort of description (ahem). They did offer up a track listing though
which is most definitely NSFW so if you need to enquire about it on
the sly, drop a note to info at nutmusic.com.
