A bit earlier, in March, there was a short bout on djml, but little since. Maybe we can keep it going a bit now. That was a first for our band, and it was fun playing in a joint where the acoustics were so good. Plus, we had those great straight backed straw & wood chairs behind us (that the Flamenco people sit bolt upright on!). One of those chairs served well for my “foot stunt” I mentioned earlier. By the way, I copied that trick from Bob Havens, so I tend to refute any type of complaint that it is just “circus”! If someone as good as Havens was did it, that’s good enough for me. Besides, audiences love it. I can manage a fairly musical solo with the slide between my toes, so there you have it!</span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=yiv0685779757msonormal><span lang=EN-US> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=yiv0685779757msonormal><span lang=EN-US>We are in for two nites next week at Madrid’s most famed jazz club: Café Central. It’s right in the center of the touristy part of town. We’ve played there since they opened their doors some 35 yrs ago. They managed to get through the pandemic lay off, and are doing well. We do 2 one hour concerts each nite, with an hour in between when they serve us a dinner.
