The Salty Dogs recorded "Sweet Lotus Blossom" with Carol Leigh singing. The studio owner Wilson Dalziel was moved to tell us how he recorded the same song by Julia Lee and Her Friends in the 1930s. It was Julia Lee's second recorded version of the song and we had it explained to us why the name of the song had to be changed. For the Salty Dogs' recording he used the old RCA ribbon mics but through a modern mixer and recorder. The studio still had all the original cutting lathes etc. for 78RPM sitting around.</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Tony Orr</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Steve Waddell's Creole Bells</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The Louisiana Shakers Jazz Band</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Melbourne</div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, Oct 7, 2021 at 1:10 PM philwilking <<a href="mailto:philwilking@cox.net">philwilking@cox.net</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex">I have found the original sheet music for "Sweet Lotus Blossom."<br>
