The different sources have some conflicting dates esp. the first 20 years, however the general picture is:<br>
<br>
1945 - born in Bexhill-on-Sea, near Hastings - UK<br>
About age 20 - moved to the USA, first New York,<br>
after a while - to New Orleans<br>
<br>
In 1972 started touring the world with his trio. And literally the world, also remember his name from festivals in Europe.<br>
Back to New Orleans in 1982<br>
<br>
Since Katrina, 29. August 2005, exactly on his 60th birthday, Trevor mainly lives in Engeland again.<br>
<br>

Yep.<br>
I heard Trevor Richards Trio (with Red Richards and John Defferary in Breda<br>
many years ago. A good friend of mine heard his trio in England, with. I<br>
believe, John Barton on piano. Trevor Richards Trio made lots of<br>
recordings as either Trevor Richards New Orleans Trio or Trevor Richards<br>
International trio, featuring some of the world's best pianists and<br>
clarinettists (or, in the event of Olivier Franc - soprano saxophonists).<br>

Many years ago I contacted Trevor asking for help in the compilation of his<br>
discography. He replied and supplied a lot of details.<br>
<br>
My last contact with him was in 2016 but the discography is still not<br>
finished. It now covers over 50 years.<br>

In his last e-mail he told me that his health was not so good but he was<br>
drumming again although less than in previous years.<br>
<br>
